Black Friday – Reach the Right Consumers for a Strong Start this Holiday Season

In 2016, 3 million more consumers shopped over Thanksgiving weekend with overall spend increasing by $1.4 billion.1 While mobile purchases continue to increase and consumers are still hitting the store for inspiration, soliciting ideas from family and friends, and seeking recommendations from retailers.2  With shoppers contemplating and purchasing over a several month period, identifying, targeting and reaching the right consumer at the right time is more important than ever. 

The Holiday Shopping Window
Holiday shopping extends throughout the last few months of the year, with over 50 percent of consumers beginning research and one-third beginning to shop before November.2 Only 9 percent finished shopping over Thanksgiving weekend.1

What Consumers Buy
Always out for a good bargain, 93 percent of shoppers made an on-sale purchase. While 74 percent of all spending went towards gifts, seven in 10 shoppers treated themselves as well.1
