Dan Singleton is Chief Operating Officer of Harland Clarke Holdings and CEO of Valassis, with executive responsibility for driving client and consumer value while accelerating business performance and growth. He provides strategic leadership to the executive management teams of each business to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
With more than 30 years of strategic and operational leadership at HCH, Dan most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Harland Clarke. He joined Harland Clarke in 1988 after holding positions at two Fortune 500 companies and was rapidly promoted through the sales organization. In 2000, Dan was recruited to lead sales, marketing, and international efforts of a $1.1 billion manufacturing sister company. After he successfully improved that company's performance and revenue growth, he returned to Harland Clarke in 2006 as Executive Vice President, assuming responsibilities for all client-facing activities. Dan was named President and COO of Harland Clarke in 2008, with accountability for financial results, strategy, sales, marketing, manufacturing, delivery and execution. He became Harland Clarke's President and CEO in 2012, leading the Harland Clarke Senior Leadership Team and team members in delivering operational excellence and intelligent solutions to more than 50 million consumers and 6 million small and medium sized businesses per year.
Dan was the founding sponsor of the Harland Clarke Diversity Council and has served on the board of directors for the Texas Diversity Council, Georgia Perimeter College, and Mission Team Inc. His commitment to diversity has been recognized by receiving the "Men Who Champion Women" award by the National Diversity Council and the "CEO Champions of Diversity Award" from the Texas Diversity & Leadership Conference. Dan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

In 2014, Cali was named President, Valassis Digital and led the division through an exceptional trajectory of consistent profitable growth through organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions. He is deeply committed to building and empowering high-performing teams to create and build compelling award-winning solutions that help improve consumers’ lives and grow clients’ businesses. Prior to Valassis, Cali served as the Senior Vice President of Technology and Business Development at MacAndrews & Forbes, the Parent Company of Harland Clarke Holdings. He is also a founder and investor in high potential, market disruptors. His portfolio includes Ancestry (pre-Series A team), GoPlae (co-founding investor) and Adavium Medical (seed investor). Earlier in his career, Cali was a Principal at North Bridge Venture and Growth Equity Partners, where he invested in wireless and digital media technology entrepreneurs.
Cali earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, at Bowdoin College and his MBA at Harvard. He had the privilege of serving as the Chairman of the Fund Directors of Bowdoin College from 2011-2015 and has the honor of being the Co-Chairman of the OneVietnam Network since its founding in 2009. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, Dr. Ellen Chan.
Greg drives data strategy, vision and execution across Harland Clarke Holdings. With 25 years of industry experience, Greg is fluent in applying data science to business applications and driving revenue. He founded and served as CEO of FourThirds, LLC, an analytics and consulting firm to agencies and clients in the marketing services and media space. Before that, Greg served in key leadership roles at Google. While at Digitas/Publicis Groupe Media, he patented an innovative, cloud-based, media analytics platform for cross-channel marketing performance. Greg is an adjunct faculty member in Northwestern University’s Integrated Marketing Communications Program. He holds a doctorate in mathematics from Claremont Graduate University in California, master’s degree in statistics from Michigan State University and bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Central Michigan University.
With more than 25 years of financial and operational experience, Grant has a proven track record as a talented and strategic finance leader. Before joining Valassis in 2016, he was Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Xerox® Technology. Grant also held various senior leadership roles at General Motors, both in Europe and the United States, and served as GM’s first Chief Risk Officer. He also worked as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nexteer Automotive, a global automotive steering systems company. Grant received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.
Curtis leads the company’s marketing organization with a keen sense of innovation, client focus and clear vision. He partners with our sales teams to deliver proven, integrated marketing programs that leverage shopper insights to drive consumer activation for clients. Curtis has a track record of exceptional performance since joining the company in 1997 in the areas of driving client success, activating consumers, strategic thinking, cross-functional team leadership and business development. He is a recognized expert on promotional strategy, data intelligence, coupon trends and the ever-changing consumer path to purchase. Curtis received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University with an emphasis in marketing and finance.
Mark leads the sales organization and is charged with maximizing revenue across the company’s print and digital media portfolio while identifying new opportunities for growth and driving client value. A seasoned leader, Mark was President and Chief Operating Officer, Sales and Marketing at Time, Inc. While at Yahoo!, he was Vice President North American Sales and Global Partnerships, responsible for driving digital revenue growth and introducing new ad products, technology and formats. As Executive Vice President North American Sales at AOL, Mark led the sales, agency and account management teams. A Detroit native, Mark earned an undergraduate degree in marketing from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Detroit. He also serves on a variety of advisory boards and industry organizations, including the Internet Advertising Bureau and the American Advertising Federation.
Gene’s focus is on driving growth and innovation across the company’s core solutions - Direct Mail Package, Free-Standing Insert and Neighborhood Targeting. Most recently, he served as Valassis’ Senior Vice President, General Manager of Direct Mail Package, which he knew intimately well from his early years at ADVO (acquired by Valassis). Capping off his sales career, Gene rose to Senior Vice President of National Sales, guided a team of 300, and instituted the Challenger™ model across all Valassis Sales divisions. He is a certified CEB Challenger trainer. Gene started his career with Estee Lauder in New York City, recruited from the University of Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Economics. He spent 10 years at Estee Lauder, building the foundation for client-facing roles throughout his career.
Sean’s leadership spans print and production operations, engineering and logistics. Prior to this role, he provided the same oversight for Harland Clarke’s operations network. Preparing him for that responsibility was his service as Senior Vice President of Harland Clarke Client Services with responsibility for client implementations, client configuration, production support, and billing services. Sean joined Harland Clarke in 1989 and has 29 years of quality, operations, engineering and client services leadership experience. He serves on the board of directors for the Check Payment Systems Association and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
Laura leads a 400-plus member team that services a wide range of clients from global to hyper-local - focused on delivering the right offer to the right consumer at the right time. Due to her extensive leadership experience, she has been recognized for providing strategic direction, continued process improvements, aggressive cost containment and creating an engaging culture. Over her 30 years at Valassis, Laura has gained extensive experience in client services, targeting and manufacturing. She possesses a well-rounded understanding of the business and the industry. Laura attended West Virginia Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in printing management.
Lisa leads the Valassis legal team which provides legal support and counsel to all business units within the Valassis enterprise. She also serves as the Valassis compliance officer. Lisa provides guidance as to strategic initiatives, alliance arrangements, corporate restructuring and acquisitions, commercial transactions and employment matters. Lisa joined Valassis in 2015 and has over 25 years of legal experience. She holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
John leads Information Technology for Valassis, NCH, and Clipper and has been with the company for 21 years. His team supports all areas of functionality from day-to-day support to new development across all business functions. His responsibilities include Business Intelligence, Business Architecture, Solution and Data Architecture, Oracle ERP, Helpdesk, release management, custom apps, and more. With a technical undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in CIS as well as an MBA from Davenport University, John’s focus is to have a good understanding of the business to apply automation through technology in the areas that will bring the most value to our companies.
Cindy oversees all aspects of human resources for the 3,000-plus employees across the company and its subsidiaries. This includes responsibility for talent acquisition, employee engagement, talent management, HR service delivery, HR policies and programs, organizational development and development. Prior to Valassis, Cindy served as Vice President and Director at Credit Acceptance, Director of Talent Acquisition at Comcast, and various HR-related roles at Suburban Automotive Group and Ford Motor Company. Cindy graduated from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and from Wayne State University in Detroit with both a master’s degree and a doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology. She is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources®.
